What We Do

Emotional Regulation and Social Skills Groups

The Emotional Regulation and Social Skills small groups are designed to coach children and adolescents on using positive and healthy coping skills to build meaningful relationships. Clients are matched with similar cognitive functioning peers to work towards their goals. The group coach challenges the members to practice their social skills in a safe environment to assist them in better functioning in school, the community and at home.

In Community Works social skills groups, we welcome all youth to challenge themselves as they discover their 'quirks' don't make them 'weird', but rather help shape them into the young individuals that they were born to be.

Respite Camp/Drop-In

Designed to support youth ages 10-17, the drop-in program provides a safe and home-like environment for youth who can use their coping skills most of the time but are not quite ready for the independence to stay home alone.

The youth are encouraged to utilize their independent living skills by participating in cooking, cleaning and basic life skills. The drop-in also challenges youth to build friendships through community outings and activities with peers.

Individual Skill Development

Individual Skill Development services encourages building positive, healthy relationships and promotes individuality by using strengths-based practice. The one to one sessions are designed to assist children and adults ages 4 and older, who exhibit signs of mental health challenges from various anxiety disorders, poor anger management skills, who may be on the autism spectrum, among other needs.

Our trained coaches collaborate with each client individually to create an individualized plan that helps reach their goals.

Psychoeducation & Parent Coaching

At Community Works' we recognize that all things are intertwined. When children and adults struggle to use their coping skills and build positive relationships at school or in the community, it is often also challenging at home.

Our psychoeducation and parent coaching services are built to address that need. Our coaches come to the family's home to education them on their child's quirks and to provide skills for smoother days in all areas of their life.
